Larry L. McIntosh was a very influential band director on Kauai for over forty years. He served at both Kaua`i High School and Kaua`i Community College. At Kaua`i High School, he grew the program to over three-hundred students and won numerous awards and accolades for their performances. At Kaua`i Community College, he founded the Instrumental Music Program, which has a Jazz Ensemble, Wind Symphony, and Symphony Orchestra. One of his biggest accomplishments was creating the All-Kaua`i Marching Band called Ku Kilakila, which marched in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade in 2005. He was named a Kaua`i Living Treasure by the Kauai Museum in 2009. He influenced thousands of students and this scholarship fund ensures that his legacy will continue for generations to come.
